My First Adventure...

My first adventure was to Arizona.  Mom and Dad decided to pack us up, Duncan, Lass and me, Tess, and take us to cooler temperatures.  Our first stop was outside Kingman, AZ at a wonderful RV park with two dog runs!  Lass, Duncan and I were so happy to be able to run, play ball, chase leaves, well, I chased the leaves....  Lass and Duncan just rolled their eyes...

Mom and Dad loved the scenery; Lass, Duncan and I loved smelling the cactus.  Ouch!  Someone forgot to warn me about getting too close... or was I not listening?  Maybe my ears were down.  It was grand except for the thunder storms which frightened Duncan.  I slept through them.   He's bigger than me and he's such a wuss.

From there, we headed on US Rte 40, a terrible road, to beautiful - and cool - Flagstaff.  Not many places to walk or run at the RV park but we were with Mom and Dad so we were happy.

Next we went to Williams, AZ, the gateway to the Grand Canyon.  Mom and Dad loved it because it was on the old Rte 66.  The excitement was lost on me but Mom and Dad were happy.  There were lots of shops, restaurants, and historical places.  Mom spent all of our gas money on Native American jewelry.  I was forced to sit on the street corner next to a hat trying to look cute and entice people to feel sorry for me.  I got $4.28 for gas money....  I must not have been that cute... I need to work on that!

The RV park was only two blocks from Rte 66 and it was lovely.  We had walking paths and lots of things to see and smell!   Mom didn't enjoy the freights trains at 4am...  I slept through them...

I met my first new friend... it was a strange creature in a carriage [for safety] and it meowed at me.  What was that?   Meow?   I thought it was a funny-looking dog until it meowed.  Meow??  Who says Meow??   I never did figure out his name...  but he sure had a strange bark...

Our next adventure will be soon, I hope!
